The ritual backfired disastrously, causing massive dark storms that rained corruption across the surrounding lands, creating a twisted wasteland inhabited by horrors born from the depths of the Sunless Sea. The failure of Celyra’s ritual became a warning of the cost of challenging Malachor’s corruption without sufficient power or allies.
