In response to the pervasive despair and hopelessness under Malachor's rule, a twisted religious cult known as the Cult of the Shattered Soul emerged. Its members believed that surrendering their souls to Malachor would bring an end to their suffering and grant them protection. The cult spread quickly, leading to mass gatherings where followers would ritually scar themselves to demonstrate devotion. This cult's rise caused widespread corruption and fear, as communities fractured between those who resisted Malachor and those who submitted to him.
