The Starlight Guardians and the Celestial Wardens, once the paragons of protection and balance in Thaloria, found themselves overextended and unable to quell the growing unrest. This era, known as The Withering, saw these prestigious orders fall into disarray as loyalty fractured among their members. Some factions sought to preserve their empires at any cost, while others embraced the changes heralded by the opening of the Eternal Gate and chose to step back from their roles as guardians, disillusioned by the strife.
