Following the cultural growth spurred by the Golden Accord, the Shardfall Uprising erupted among kobold clans that felt stifled under their draconic patrons. They sought to use newly learned arcane practices to claim autonomy. The uprising was named after the Shardfalls, crystalline caverns where rebellious kobolds gathered to harness elemental power. Though ultimately suppressed, the event led to a shift in the perception of kobolds as beings capable of wielding significant magical power independently of dragons.
