Kobolds, creatures born of the dragons' elemental influence and remnants of the First Age's chaotic energy, began to form their first organized clans. These clans -- the Emberclaws, Frosttails, and Stonebiters -- sought protection by aligning themselves with powerful dragons. The Emberclaws, in particular, were known for their cunning and fierce loyalty to their draconic patrons. This marked the start of a relationship that would define the dynamics between dragons and kobolds for thousands of years.
