Starwatch Tower, once a symbol of magical discovery, became a rallying point for resistance fighters and arcane scholars hoping to reverse Malachor's advances. However, in Year 81, the Abyssal Lord led a direct assault on the tower with an elite force of fiends and powerful undead. The defenders held out for weeks, using ancient spells and artifacts to hold back the dark tide, but ultimately fell. Malachor's victory saw the tower corrupted, its sacred leylines warped into conduits of darkness.
