The Ritual of Summoning

Third Age (19995)

The Cauldron succeeded in obtaining all seven Swords of Wayland and brought them together for an ancient ritual. The seven members of The Cauldron, each wielding one sword, performed a complex ceremony requiring hours of uninterrupted concentration.

The members were: Mordhain Blackthorn, Selara Duskveil, Thorin Ironblood, Aelira Moonglimmer, Tyrion Windwhisper, Gareth Stormwarden, and Xerath Nightbound.

The ritual culminated in the opening of a great rift as the Abyssal Lord, known as Malachor the Endbringer, crossed into the world. Malechor's entry brought an immediate surge of chaotic energy that shattered leyline stabilizers, darkened the skies, and released a wave of abyssal power that marked the fall of Thaloria's great civilizations.
