You worked in a secure repository of spell scrolls, grimoires, and arcane records, entrusted with cataloging every magical text that passed through your care. Perhaps it was a small library belonging to a local mage or a modest annex to a grand wizard's tower. Either way, you got hands-on experience with a variety of magical writings -- even if you never cast the more advanced spells yourself.

Equipment: You begin with 50 GP that may only be spent on items from the Adventuring Gear and Tools lists. This gold cannot be used to purchase weapons, armor, or mounts and vehicles. Any unspent funds may be kept in a belt pouch for future expenses in the course of an adventure.
Once per long rest, you can recall a specific detail from a scroll or book that was in the secure "restricted section." This grants you advantage on one Arcana or History check.
