Kobold

Kobolds are a resilient and industrious people descended from the earliest draconic bloodlines of the Second Age. Though small in stature, they possess immense resourcefulness, boundless creativity, and an enduring will to survive in a dangerous world. Ancient legends claim that kobolds were shaped by the fading power of the great dragons, imbuing them with draconic cunning and an innate connection to magic.

Despite their historical role as dragon-servants in long-lost ages, modern kobolds have risen beyond mere servitude. While some tribes still worship or serve powerful draconic beings, many have established autonomous communities. They thrive in harsh environments like winding mountain tunnels, deep forests, and sprawling underground cities, where their mastery of engineering, trapmaking, and magic is unmatched.

Kobolds are small, wiry reptilian humanoids with scaly skin ranging from rusty reds and earthy browns to deep blues and shimmering golds, reflecting their draconic ancestry. They have elongated snouts, sharp claws, and thin, flexible tails used for balance and agility. Their glowing eyes shine with intelligence and a spark of ambition.

Once relegated to draconic servitude, kobolds have emerged as inventors, artisans, and traders in the modern age. They are sought after for their skills as engineers, builders, and magical artisans. Though some still follow ancient draconic cults or serve elder wyrms, many kobold clans have built free settlements filled with incredible ingenuity. In Thaloria, "small but mighty" is more than a saying -- it's a legacy.
