Fighter subclass
Dragoons are warriors trained in ancient traditions that emulate dragons' might, channeling their essence to perform gravity-defying leaps and plummeting strikes. Masters of polearms and hit-and-run tactics, they soar above the battlefield to avoid reprisal and crush foes with momentum-driven attacks. Their bond with draconic magic grants resilience against elemental forces, and their unparalleled agility evolves into brief flight at the pinnacle of their skill.
Starting at 3rd level, you can use a bonus action to leap vertically up to 30 feet or horizontally up to 60 feet without provoking opportunity attacks. Until the end of your current turn, your first melee attack you make with a Heavy, Two-Handed weapon deals an additional 1d6 damage as you descend from the jump. This bonus damage increases to 3d6 at 7th level, 4d6 at 10th level, 5d6 at 15th level, and 6d6 at 18th level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest.
At 7th level, your bond with draconic energy grants resistance to one damage type of your choice (acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison) for 1 minute after you use a Draconic Leap. You can change the type of this resistance each time you use a Draconic Leap.
At 10th level, your leaps destabilize foes. When you land within 5 feet of a creature after using Draconic Leap, you can expend one additional use of the Draconic Leap feature to force all creatures of your choice within 10 feet to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failure, a creature takes 2d6 bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone.
At 15th level, your Draconic Leap distance doubles, to 60 feet vertically or 120 feet horizontally. Additionally, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed for 1 minute after using Draconic Leap.
At 18th level, you transcend mortal limits. Once per long rest, when you use Draconic Leap, you can descend as a 30-foot-radius sphere of force. All creatures in the area take 8d6 force damage (Constitution save for half) and are knocked prone. You are immune to your own Dragonlord's Descent effect.
